Welcome to the Fire Department Training Network …

Welcome to the Fire Department Training Network, the nation's only fire service membership network dedicated to providing realistic fireground training. If you're looking for a monthly training magazine, realistic fireground training courses, or street-smart and firefighter-friendly training manuals and videos then you've come to the right place!

Whether you're an individual firefighter, a company officer seeking to become better at your job, or a department training officer looking to challenge members of your department, the Fire Department Training Network's membership, training products and training courses are designed to provide you what you need. Take a look at our specialties…

Membership: The Fire Department Training Nework produces a no-nonsense monthly training magazine designed to get you thinking about an actual fire — today! That's right, none of the extra fluff, just meat-and-potatoes firefighting like stretching and advancing, forcible entry, searching – and what it takes to be ready to perfom those skills when the tones go off.

Training Books and Videos: The Fire Department Training Network is known for it's street-smart, tell-it-like-it-is, training books and videos. The highly acclaimed FireNotes series of training books is unmatched! These books don't follow the standard — they are the standard, when it comes to providing simple, relevant, and straight-foward information on how to perform—and perfect—the fireground skills needed to excel on the fireground.

The Fire Department Training Network's Fireground Survival & Rapid Intervention Teams Training Curriculum is the most comprehensive resource available for developing and training Rapid Intervention Teams. The program is made up of three modules: Firefighter Survival, Firefighter Rescue, and Rapid Intervention Team Operations. The curriculum exceeds all aspects as outlined in NFPA 1407 Standard for Training Rapid Intervention Crews.

Training Courses: The Fire Department Training Network is known for it's realistic, live-fire, training courses that are as close to the real thing as possible. That's right, if you didn't know you were at a training session you'd think you were fighting a fire in your own district. Realistic crew sizes, realistic structures, realistic apparatus placement, and realistic fires. Our Academy has been referred to as "Disneyland for Firefighters!" We pride ourselves in pushing you to your limits so you can learn under the conditions you'll face on the street. The only way to get good at this job is by doing this job — there's no doubt in our mind that these courses recreate the real thing! What better way to practice and perfect your skills!
